SOCIAL IS HERE TO STAY BUT IT’S NOISIER THAN EVER!
Marketing and Branding is about ATTENTION and as marketers we need to know where the attention is and then develop and deliver CONSISTENT, QUALITY and VARIED content to our audience. The truth these days is that most of the attention of the world is on a select number of platforms 24/7 – so that’s where we have to show up – AND also be NOTICED!
I am always being asked about how does one get noticed on Social Media, especially since its become even harder to stand out from the endless noise. Well I discovered from my own social channels that if one follows these 10 steps, they can not only stand out but also start to attract the right clients.
Identity where your target market (ie. customers) live - FB, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Podcast, TikTok..
Make sure you have a strong page on those platforms - company and/or personal page
Make content in written, audio, video, graphic and photo form (or start with the one you're most comfortable with first). And make the content in long and short form
Work out how to leverage or "stretch" that content as far as you can ie. chop it up into small bite sizes, add graphics/video to it, repackage it, video and transcribe a podcast and now you have multiple forms..
MAKE SURE THAT CONTENT IS VALUABLE TO YOUR CUSTOMER - NOT A SALES PROMOTION FOR YOU!
Start posting that content everyday, multiple times a day on your platforms of choice
Interact with the audience and the content
Do the same on as many relevant groups as you can
If you have the budget start a low cost FB ad campaign to learn how it works and get a feel for the psychology of your audience
Start at step 1 and do it all again
